Canterbury Earthquake (Historic Places Act) Order 2011

Consolidates the provisions of orders made under the Canterbury Earthquake Response and Recovery Act 2010, namely the Canterbury Earthquake (Historic Places Act) Order 2010 as amended by the Canterbury Earthquake (Historic Places Act) Amendment Order 2011. Continues the provisions under the 2010 Orders and adds a streamlined New Zealand Historic Places Trust process for determining applications to modify sites of interest to Maori in a way that balances the need to support the recovery and rebuilding of Canterbury against the need to protect sites of interest to Maori. The Review Panel made a recommendation to the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery and the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage on the draft Order on 15 June 2011. The Ministry for Culture and Heritage letter of 8 June 2011 contains information about the draft Order that the Review Panel considered in making its report and recommendation. Date in force/expires 1 July 2011/18 April 2016.
