Canterbury Earthquake (Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing) Order 2011
Extends the deadline for Christchurch taxi operator compliance with installing in-vehicle security systems in recognition of financial hardship and disruption caused by the earthquakes. Christchurch taxi operators must comply with requirements relating to in-vehicle security camera systems and emergency alert and response facilities by 1 May 2012 instead of 1 August 2011. The Review Panel made a recommendation to the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery and the Minister of Transport on the draft Order on 20 May 2011. The Ministry of Transport letter of 17 May 2011 contains information about the draft Order that the Review Panel considered in making its report and recommendation. Date in force/expires 27 June 2011/2 May 2012.
