The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011

The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 came into force on 19 April 2011. Changes to legislation have been made in response to the earthquake, including Orders made under the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011, and Orders and Regulations made under the Canterbury Earthquake Response and Recovery Act 2010 and under other legislation. Under section 92 of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 the Minister must, within 12 months after the commencement of this Act and once in every 12 months after that, carry out a review of the operation and effectiveness of this Act and prepare a report on that review. The report must include any recommendations for amendments to this Act. The Minister must present the report to the House of Representatives as soon as practicable after it has been completed.
